June technology tasks

One of the things I’ve never done well is to document the things I do to demonstrate the things I know. I hope to use this website to do just that. Regularly report on technology tasks and projects I’ve completed and anything I’ve learned along the way. In my last job, I would joke that I spent most of my time fixing people. I suppose that was true. But I’m not sure how to best document my people interactions and experiences. Perhaps that’s a project that will land here someday. For now, I’ll focus on technology.

I started working at Lincoln Academy on January 4, 2021. Since school ended on June 10, I’ve focused mainly on cleaning out the cave filled with old hardware and cables. There is more to sort through but it’s progress. I’m in the process of updating a few dozen old computers to CloudReady and inspect a large number of Samsung Chromebooks.

Of course, that doesn’t cover the questions from staff, assisting the departing staff, assisting the new staff and sorting my office from the mad rush that is the end of a school year.

Not very exciting. Such is the life of a Technology Support Specialist.
